Trump impeachment trial begins – BBC Information

The Senate impeachment trial of US President Donald Trump has begun. Republican Senate Majority chief, Mitch McConnell, desires to dam subpoenaing key witnesses or paperwork. Whereas the Democrats say this shall be at least a cover-up.

Mr Trump is charged with abusing his presidential energy with leverage over Ukraine, and of obstructing Congress because it seemed into his conduct. He denies all the costs.

A part of the BBC Information at Ten’s protection, introduced by Huw Edwards with reporting from our North America Editor Jon Sopel.
